House removals with us means the whole move handled for you: packing, protecting, loading, the drive, then unloading into the right rooms at the other end. We are Bridge Removals & Storage, a family-run firm working from our depot in Helmshore, Rossendale, moving local households since 2016 and rated 5.0 from 170+ Google reviews.
The everyday parts are all included, and so are the awkward ones:
- Packing done for you when you book it, included in the price, with boxes and materials supplied and recycled where we can
- Furniture wrapped and protected, with beds, wardrobes and flat-pack pieces dismantled and reassembled at the new house
- Pianos moved by trained staff with proper equipment
- Safes, strongboxes and heavy items shifted with the right kit
- Particular care over antiques, mirrors, artwork and anything sentimental
- Your goods insured in transit and in storage
We run four vans and size the crew to the move, from a one-bed flat to a full four-bedroom house. Sara’s Google review describes us “moving our tribe and all our stuff to a very old house with tricky access and very low doors”, and that is the sort of job we are set up for: tight staircases, narrow lanes and awkward doorways included.
How much do removal companies charge?
Every move is priced individually, so there is no rate card to point at. Five things do most of the work in setting the price: the size of the property, the distance between addresses, how much packing you want us to do, any specialist items such as pianos or safes, and how close the van can get at each end. A second-floor flat with no lift is a different job from a house with a driveway, even with identical contents.

How long does a house move take, and how much notice do we need?
It depends on the size of the property, the access at both ends and how far you are going, which is why we look at the job before we put a time on it. When we quote, we tell you how long we expect your move to take and how many hands it needs.
Notice works the same way. There is no fixed booking window, but end-of-month dates and the summer fill up first, so get in touch as soon as you know your dates. If completion slips, tell us; dates move all the time in a chain and we plan around it.
If your dates do not line up, we store it ourselves
Chains break and completion dates move, and this is where a removals and storage firm in one earns its keep. If there is a gap between houses, we collect your things as planned, hold them at our own heated depot in Rossendale, secured with CCTV and an alarm, then redeliver when the new keys are yours. One firm, one quote, door to door.
It is managed storage rather than self-storage: we collect, store and redeliver, staff meet you whenever you need access, and there is a size of space to suit what you store, from a few boxes to a full house of furniture. There is more on our storage page.
